Donate before 30 June and claim your tax deduction for FY25–26

30 June is a big moment on the financial calendar for taxpayers in Australia, marking the end of the financial year (EOFY). And for those donating, the lead up to 30 June is a smart time to do it, not only because your gift helps people facing crisis, but every donation over $2 is tax-deductible, meaning if you donate before the end of the financial year, you can claim it in your FY25-26 tax return.

Donate now, reduce your taxable income and claim on your tax return

Make your donation count at tax time and give before the end of the financial year to make an impact.

Your gift essentially gives twice by helping to support people in need and may reduce your taxable income when claimed on your tax return.

How to make a tax-deductible donation

  • Donate $2 or more to make it tax-deductible
  • Make your donation by 11:59 pm AEST on 30 June 2026
  • Donate to Australian Red Cross
  • Keep the receipt you’ll be sent
  • Include the donation amount in your tax return

Where does the money I donate to Australian Red Cross go?

If you make an EOFY donation, your generosity can give people somewhere to turn on the most challenging days of their lives, people like Lee and John from Ruffy who lost their home of 25 years, livestock and treasured belongings in the January 2026 bushfires in Victoria, and Sabrina, a farmer from Kangaroo Island, who lost much of her property in the Black Summer fires.

How do I make an ongoing donation to Australian Red Cross not just at EOFY?

No matter when you donate, your generosity can make a difference year-round and provided the donation is for $2 or more, your donation is tax-deductible in your tax return.

Our generous regular givers support our work by making an automatic donation every four weeks, either by credit card or direct debit. Find out more about how to make an ongoing donation.

How else can I support Australian Red Cross?

In addition to making a tax-deductible donation to Australian Red Cross, you can make an impact by donating pre-loved clothing, shoes, accessories and homewares to our Red Cross Shops, donating blood at a local Lifeblood centre or volunteering your time as an Australian Red Cross volunteer.

How can businesses donate to Australian Red Cross?

Small businesses can make tax-deductible donations too. Businesses can also support Australian Red Cross through corporate partnerships, workplace giving, and retail or stock donations.
