Available in SA, TAS, and VIC (patient transport only).

Spending time out and about in the community is an important part of life. With our Transport service, our team of volunteer drivers can take you where you want to go.

Whether you’ve got errands to run or social events to attend, this service is all about keeping you connected to the people and places that matter to you.

Transport options

You can book the Transport service if:

  • you’re heading to a social event
  • you’re going to do the shopping
  • you’re attending an event in town
  • you’re going to a non-emergency medical appointment.

Depending on where you live, you might be able to use the Transport services to travel long distances, too.

Who is the program for?

South Australia and Tasmania

The Transport service is for older people who:

  • are registered for My Aged Care
  • live independently
  • can’t or don’t drive
  • can’t access safe, reliable transport near home.

If you’re eligible, you can bring a carer with you — or a friend if they’re a registered Transport recipient too!

Victoria

The Transport service is only available to help people access hospital and medical appointments. You don’t need to be registered for My Aged Care to access this service, but you will need a referral from your doctor or specialist.

Services for under 65s

In South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria, the Transport service is also available for people who are under 65, depending on their circumstances.

Why should you sign up?

Our Transport service is more than just a way to get from A to B. Like all our aged care services, it’s run by volunteers who cherish the opportunity to meet new people in their community. You’ll get a smiling face, a comfortable ride and — if you’re up for it — a hello and a chat to brighten your day.
