What is Meals on Wheels?

Meals on Wheels is a meal delivery service for seniors and vulnerable people, providing a range of healthy and nutritious frozen and fresh meals delivered to your door.

Our service is more than just a meal. Our friendly volunteers will also check in on you when they deliver your meals - they stop and say 'hi' and check how you're doing.

Is this service for you?

Meals on Wheels is for anyone who is no longer able to prepare meals, or has difficulty preparing their own meals. This may be due to age, disability or a temporary condition. Meals are also available to carers of people who receive meals on wheels.

About the service

Meal options range from soups and salads to breakfasts and hot meal delivery like hearty main meals. We also have some vegetarian and gluten-free options, with some menus catering for people with allergies.

Meals can also come prepared for you, including cut, blended or pureed, to help you enjoy your meal.

Meals on Wheels can deliver as often as you like each week to Canberra and greater ACT and greater Tasmania. We do recommend at least twice a week though to increase your contact with our volunteers. The volunteers will have a chat and make sure that you are OK. If there are any problems they notify Red Cross staff who follow up with your identified contact.
