Facts and circumstances of collection
We are collecting information about your name, contact details, vaccination history and related information directly from you.

Is the collection being made because a law or Court order applies?
Generally, there is no law that requires us to collect this information. In some states and territories, or in industries such as aged care, we may be required by law to collect this information from you.

Why does Red Cross need to collect this information?
We need to collect this information so we can:

  1. comply with legislation and/or contractual obligations
  2. comply with our internal policies and procedures
  3. manage operational matters such as our work health and safety obligations
  4. satisfy obligations imposed by third parties, such as occupiers or funders.

The purpose for which the information is being collected
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this information will be used to support us to keep Red Cross people, clients and communities safe, manage compliance with laws, regulations, health orders, contractual obligations, Red Cross policies and procedures, and third party requirements such as conditions of entry. It will also be used to manage operational matters such as risk assessments and deployments, where appropriate. We may also use this information to prepare de-identified, aggregated reports on vaccination coverage of Red Cross people.

What happens if Red Cross doesn’t collect this information?
Except where required by law, you can choose not to provide this information.

If you do not agree to provide this information, this may impact the way you work, volunteer or engage with Red Cross or your ability to work, volunteer or engage with Red Cross.

Anonymity/Nickname
We require your real name so that we can satisfy our policies and manage work health and safety risks.

We may need to disclose your information to government authorities, occupiers, or other third parties that Red Cross works with. This may include providing evidence of your vaccination status where necessary.

We may disclose your information to third parties who provide services to us or who can assist us to verify your information, such as information technology organisations and data analytics providers.
