Start a Lifeblood team

The Australian Red Cross Lifeblood group blood donation program, Lifeblood Teams, is a social responsibility program for workmates, friends, teammates and communities who want to make a difference together. 

It doesn’t matter if there are 5 of you, or 500 — nothing beats the feeling of saving lives together. You can donate as a small group or as individuals – as long as you are registered to your Lifeblood Team you’ll be able to keep track of how many lives you have saved.

Steps to take action 

  1. Be a Lifeblood Team Champion. You’ll be the Lifeblood go-to contact for your team and the person in charge of organising donations, recruiting new members and spreading the word. A Team Champion does not have to be an active donor.
  2. Register your Lifeblood Team and track your team’s donations.  Do this online at donateblood.com.au/lifeblood-teams, call 1300 886 524 or download the Donateblood App. 
  3. Chat to your local Group Account Manager. Champion’s will have their own Group Account Manager who can help with promotion, materials and presentations. They will reach out to you once your team is registered. 
  4. Promote your lifeblood team to your friends or colleagues - invite them to join and set some dates for their first team blood donations. Ask for an all-staff email to go out from management to encourage participation.
