2. Check and open their airways – tilt their head back and support their jaw to open airways. If there are obstructions (such as food) place them on their side to remove.
4. If there is no normal breathing start chest compressions. Push firmly in the middle of their chest with the heel one hand so that the chest goes inward, then release.
Do this 30 times.
5. After the 30 compressions, give 2 rescue breaths, tilting their head back and creating a seal with your mouth to theirs.
Continue with cycles of 30 chest compressions and 2 rescue breaths until help arrives. If you are not willing to give recue breaths, provide continual chest compressions only.
