Celebrating 15 years of partnership with Country Road

Giving clothes a greater purpose

For the past 15 years, Australian Red Cross and Country Road have been helping Australians give their pre-loved Country Road clothing a second chance through Fashion Trade.

What began in 2011 as one of Australia's first customer take-back programs has grown into a long-running initiative that makes it easy for people to donate pre-loved Country Road garments, reduce textile waste, and support humanitarian work at the same time.

Putting circular fashion into action

As a form of give-back-to-get-back initiative, customers can donate quality Country Road clothing at any Australian Red Cross Shop or Country Road store and receive a $10 Country Road voucher to redeem on a future purchase. The donated garments are then resold through Australian Red Cross Shops.

It's a simple idea with far-reaching impact.

By keeping wearable clothing in use for longer, Fashion Trade supports a more circular approach to fashion, helping reduce textile waste and the demand for new production. At the same time, funds raised through Australian Red Cross Shops help support people experiencing hardship, crisis, and disaster in Australia and around the world.

15 years of impact

Since 2011, Australian Red Cross has received more than 358,039 garments through its partnership with Country Road, generating an estimated $1.3 million through sales at Australian Red Cross Shops.

For Australian Red Cross Acting CEO Penny Harrison, the partnership demonstrates the power of reuse to create both environmental and social impact.
