Appeal intent for Qld and NSW Floods Appeal

Funds raised from the Qld and NSW Floods Appeal 2022 will help enable Australian Red Cross to provide humanitarian support to people and communities in Queensland and New South Wales affected by the 2022 floods.

Based on ongoing needs assessment in Queensland and NSW and amount raised, that support may include:

• enabling volunteers and staff to help with evacuations, relief centres and outreach service
• supporting people and communities to recover and to build resilience to disasters

In the unlikely event that the funds raised exceed the amount required to meet the emergency needs of people in affected areas, or if there are circumstances beyond Red Cross’ control, excess funds will be directed to Red Cross’ broader disaster response and recovery work in Australia.

Appeal intent for Australia Unites Telethon

100% of the funds raised during the Telethon will go to people in Queensland and New South Wales affected by the 2022 floods as cash assistance.

No essential support costs will be deducted from funds raised during the telethon. This is an exception made possible in part thanks to generous support from funders.
