The Ian Potter Foundation began supporting the STAY Plus – Supporting Resilience After Homelessness program in South Australia from January 2013. Modelled on a similar Red Cross program in Tasmania, this new initiative matches 60 trained volunteers with 45 clients, equipping them with the skills and confidence to live independently. The Ian Potter Foundation has pledged to support the program through to December 2015, donating $397,500.

Dr Alberto Furlan, Senior Program Manager at The Ian Potter Foundation says social isolation is one of the major factors preventing individuals who have been homeless from reintegrating into society. Supporters like The Ian Potter Foundation provide vital funds and contributions in-kind to help vulnerable people in our communities. Red Cross develops relationships with Trusts, Foundations, Private Ancillary Funds and Trustee companies, developing funding submissions based on the interest and capacity of each funder. Red Cross individually manages each of the successful grant relationships through provision of measurable outcome-based reporting and regular personal contact.
