Australian Red Cross has launched a ringfence of its Global Emergency Fund to provide support for communities impacted by the earthquakes in Venezuela. Between Friday 29 June 2026 and Friday 31 July 2026, all donations to the Fund will go directly towards supporting the Venezuelan earthquakes response.
Australian Red Cross Acting CEO Penny Harrison said the impact of the earthquakes in Venezuela has been devastating for many communities.
“Right now, Venezuelan Red Cross (CRV) and the International Federation of the Red Cross Red Crescent (IFRC) are on the ground, delivering critical relief and aid to those impacted by the earthquakes in Venezuela. Trained CRV volunteers are engaged in coordination with national emergency response efforts, deploying rescue teams to support evacuation and search operations,” said Ms Harrison.
The earthquakes were felt across much of the country and national authorities have since declared a state of emergency. Official information on injured, displaced people and damage to infrastructure remains limited, with the official casualty numbers continuing to climb.
Australian Red Cross remains committed to supporting our Movement partners working alongside communities in the region. Our Restoring Family Links service is also available to help people in Australia reconnect with loved ones affected by the crisis.
"Australian Red Cross stands in solidarity with our Movement partners responding to the earthquakes in Venezuela. We recognise the critical role of local volunteers and frontline responders who are supporting communities under challenging conditions," said Ms Harrison.
With the support of our generous donors, funds raised through the Australian Red Cross Global Emergency Fund which are ringfenced to support those impacted by the earthquakes in Venezuela will help:
