Sydney, Australia | Streets, part of The Magnum Ice Cream Company (TMICC) - the world’s largest ice cream company - has entered a multiyear national partnership with Australian Red Cross to deliver comfort, connection and care to communities facing emergencies across Australia.
The partnership brings together Australian Red Cross’s trusted humanitarian capabilities with one of Australia’s most iconic and well loved brands, supporting people through the immediate impacts of disasters and the long-term journey to recovery that follows.
As climate-driven emergencies continue to increase in frequency and severity, Australian Red Cross provides 24/7 support including evacuation assistance, psychosocial care, family reunification and long-term recovery. With Streets’ support, Australian will be able to expand the reach of these vital services through more trained volunteers, faster response times and stronger ongoing recovery efforts nationwide.
“For generations, Streets ice cream has brought joy to Australians,” said Scott Mingl, General Manager, ANZ at The Magnum Ice Cream Company. “We’re proud to extend that spirit of joy into moments when people need it most. By partnering with Australian Red Cross, we hope to make a meaningful difference in supporting communities with care, connection and a small sense of normality before, during and after emergencies.”
Streets will work alongside Red Cross teams at evacuation centres, recovery hubs and community events, offering small but meaningful gestures that help people feel supported and cared for. These moments of joy, shared through something as simple as an ice cream, can help ease emotional strain, restore hope, and create welcoming environments where communities can reconnect and begin to heal.
“In times of crisis, connection and kindness matter just as much as practical support,” said Andrew Colvin AO APM, CEO at Australian Red Cross. “Our partnership with Streets brings a simple but powerful source of comfort to people during incredibly tough moments. Together, we will help communities prepare for emergencies, support them through the immediate response, and stand beside them through the long journey to recovery.”
The partnership will also strengthen long-term community resilience by supporting initiatives that help Australians rebuild social connections, wellbeing and stability after crises.
Streets will become a National Supporter of Australian Red Cross EmergencyRedi Week, helping accelerate the organisation’s goal to reach 1 million people over 3 years through individual and household readiness programs.
As part of its commitment, The Magnum Ice Cream Company will join the Australian Red Cross Collective, an alliance of major organisations collaborating to deliver coordinated and impactful community resilience initiatives across the country. By combining humanitarian expertise with Streets’ extensive national reach, the partnership aims to bring both practical support and emotional uplift to communities when it matters most.
