Register Find Reunite launched to reunite families and friends impacted by Catastrophic Fire Danger across Victoria

8 January 2026

Australian Red Cross has opened Register.Find.Reunite and is urging people affected by the catastrophic fire danger across northern, north-western, and south-western Victoria to register if they are leaving their home location.

Australian Red Cross, State Manager Victoria, Programs Fyowna Norton said evacuating from your home before or during an emergency can be very stressful.

“It’s extremely helpful for emergency services to know when people have left their homes as a precaution during extreme weather events.” Ms Norton said.

“We also encourage you to share your plans with family and friends, so they know where you are and that you are safe.”

If you have been impacted by the catastrophic fire danger across northern, north-western, and south-western Victoria, Australian Red Cross encourages you to register through the Register.Find.Reunite service. People can register with Register.Find.Reunite on the Australian Red Cross website at redcross.org.au from a computer or any mobile device.

It is important for emergency management agencies to know where people are during emergencies. By registering with Register.Find.Reunite you are letting important services know that you are OK and what support you may need.
