Aussies give generously with 27,200kg and counting, donated through this year’s Uber x Red Cross Clothing Drive

17 October 2026

For one day only each year, Uber teams up with Australian Red Cross to make it easier for Aussies to donate their quality clothing with FREE Courier trips on Uber or Uber Eats. And this morning, which is also World Op Shop day - Aussie generosity is on display. By midday AEDT (just 2 hours in!), an estimated 27,200kg of quality clothing has already been picked up and donated through the 2026 Uber x Red Cross Clothing Drive.

From Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra (12:00PM), to Adelaide (11:30AM) Brisbane (11:00AM), and Perth getting underway (10:00AM), Australians have been clearing out their wardrobes and giving quality pre-loved clothing a second life, with free Courier pick ups booked through the Uber and Uber Eats apps making it easy to donate directly from their doorstep.

Sydney is currently taking the lead with the most donations, while Melbourne is in second place.

The donated items will be sold through Australian Red Cross shops across the country, helping raise funds for vital services that support people and communities experiencing vulnerability in Australia and overseas.

There’s still time to get involved. Aussies can book a FREE Courier pick-up via the Uber or Uber Eats apps until 4pm local time today.
