General terms
Donations to Australian Red Cross of $2 and over may be tax deductible. This will be identified in the relevant appeal details online or by calling 1800 RED CROSS (733 276), and will also appear on your tax receipt. Ongoing monthly donations are tax deductible and will be receipted at the end of the financial year.

Disputes and refunds
All complaints, grievances and disputes will be treated seriously, quickly and in a timely manner, having due regard to procedural fairness and confidentiality. All parties are required to participate in the dispute resolution process in good faith. If you believe that there has been an error with your donation, you should notify us directly on 1800 RED CROSS (733 276) and confirm that notice in writing or by email at as soon as possible so that we can resolve your query quickly. Any issues should be directed to Australian Red Cross in the first instance so that we can attempt to resolve the matter. If you are not satisfied with the outcome you can still refer it to your financial institution which will obtain details of the disputed transaction and may lodge a claim on your behalf.

Monthly donations

Your obligations
It is your responsibility to ensure that there are sufficient clear funds available in your account. You should check your account statement to verify that the amounts debited from your account are correct.

Changes and cancellations
We may vary details of your agreement or a direct debit request at any time by giving you at least 14 days written notice.

If you wish to cancel, defer or alter a debit payment you must notify us by calling 1800 RED CROSS (733 276) at least 14 days before the next donation day.

Please provide details of your donation agreement, such as name, address, and supporter number, etc, for ease of processing.

First Aid courses

All course prices and scheduled dates are subject to change without notification; however every attempt will be made to give reasonable notice.

All accredited training is exempt from GST, however, non-accredited training and training materials do attract GST and this component will be identified on your tax invoice.

If you are a concession card holder or have a discount voucher you must ensure you bring this with you on the day of the course.

Conditions of course enrolment
A notification of your course enrolment will be emailed to you with an information pack. This information will include:

  • course details, including location and venue details
  • tax invoice

Your commencement in the course you have enrolled in is dependant upon:

  • sufficient enrolments in the course
  • course pre-requisite/s being met
  • availability of places in the course
  • arriving at the venue at least 15 minutes prior to course commencement. Anyone more than 15 minutes late may not be accepted into the course.

You will not generally be able to book into a course using the online system if the course you have chosen is due to commence in 2 days or less. As there may still be vacancies for this course you may wish to phone the relevant state or territory office to check availability.

In the event that a course is overbooked Australian Red Cross reserves the right to contact you and make other mutually agreeable arrangements. Should a suitable arrangement not be agreed upon a full refund will be made.

If the course that you have booked into has a pre-requisite requirement you will be required to provide the evidence that you meet the requirement prior to the course commencement.

First Aid course cancellations/transfers/refunds
For course withdrawals with more than five (5) working days notice from the date of course start (eg, course starts on Monday, cancellation must be by close of business Monday previous), a refund of 80% of fees paid will be given.

For course withdrawals with five (5) or less working days notice, a 50% refund will be given.

A 20% transfer fee applies to any request for transfer where the notice period is less than five (5) working days.

Refunds will not be made to individuals or organisations when a person is booked into a course and fails to attend. If you cannot attend a course for which you have enrolled in and paid for, you may send another person in your place at no additional charge.

If for any reason Australian Red Cross finds it necessary to cancel a course and a suitable transfer to an alternative course can not be made, you will receive a full refund of fees paid.

Online shopping

General terms and methods of payment
All website ( orders must be paid by Visa, MasterCard, American Express or PayPal. The cost of recovering any default of payments will be borne by the customer. The goods remain the property of Australian Red Cross until full payment is received.

Prices are quoted in Australian dollars.

All prices are correct at the time of online publication. Prices are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to rectify prices quoted in the invoice, if found to be incorrect.

Returns and refunds
If a product is damaged or not as described:

Australian Red Cross is committed to providing quality products to our customers.

If your item has not arrived, is significantly different to what was described in the listing or is broken or faulty, you can request an exchange or refund and we will cover the full cost of postage. Providing:

  • proof of purchase is supplied
  • original tags and labels are still attached to the item
  • must be in original packaging/ same condition as when you received it.

I’ve changed my mind or there is a sizing issue
If you have changed your mind or there is a sizing issue, we will happily exchange or refund the item within 14 days, however the customer is responsible for returned postage costs. Providing:

  • proof of purchase is supplied
  • original tags and labels are still attached to the item
  • must be in original packaging/ same condition as when you received it

  • We will action all returns enquiries within 5 business day.
  • We do not accept online returns in physical Red Cross Shops.
  • Please choose carefully as we cannot offer a return on clearance/reduced items or items that we have disclosed to have a known defect. For health reasons, pierced earrings, intimate apparel, swimwear of hosiery cannot be returned.
  • Returns will also be accepted as required by law.

Delivery delays
All items are promoted in good faith to be available at the time of ordering. Unforeseen supply problems or unexpected demand may occasionally result in stock being unavailable. Should there be a delay in dispatching your order we will contact you to advise you of the reason for the delay.

Red Cross Real Good Gifts

Red Cross Real Good Gifts are non-refundable and non-transferable. It is up to Red Cross’ discretion to refund any donations that are made in addition to any gift(s) at the point of purchase. There will be no refund or exchange on any purchases in any other circumstances than the ones described.
