There is.
You can train to become a Queensland Emergency Services volunteer with Australian Red Cross and be one of the helpers when disaster strikes.
You’ll gain new skills, learn new things about yourself and become part of a community of like-minded people.
Emergency Services volunteers support people and their communities to cope with the psychosocial impacts of disasters.
You could be deployed to assist in a flood, fire, or other large-scale emergency in Queensland, and you’ll support people in a range of ways.
This might look like:
Our volunteers receive training in disaster recovery, emergency services self-care, emergency preparedness and responding to disasters.
Your training will include a psychological first aid qualification.
You will also have access to resources: an online learning platform to build skills, coaching, leadership, self-care, language, and much more.
To be a Queensland Emergency Services volunteer you need to have strong communication skills and be able to commit to your team for at least 12 months.
Meet new people, gain new skills and be there for your community by joining our team of Queensland Emergency Services volunteers.
If you have any questions regarding volunteering with Red Cross please send us a message and one of our recruitment team members will be in touch.
