Now in its 8th year, the Clothing Drive will be taking place across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra. The initiative collects quality clothing and accessories that are sold through Australian Red Cross Shops, raising vital funds to support people facing disaster, hardship and crisis - here in Australia and across the world.
Last year’s drive collected more than 125,000 kg of donated clothing across Australia, and we are encouraging everyone to get on board and make this year the biggest, most impactful drive yet!
On Saturday, 17 October, between 10am - 4pm you can book a free* Courier trip on Uber (via the Uber or Uber Eats apps) to collect your pre-loved, quality clothes from your doorstep, for donation to Australian Red Cross Shops.
Our shops urgently need high-quality clothing and accessories to sell. Every item that is reused, resold, or repurposed helps extend the life of quality goods, reduces landfill, and helps us champion the circular economy.
Funds raised help us support people facing vulnerability, here in Australia and across the world. Together, we can make a real difference in someone's life during hardship, disaster, crisis or isolation.
Our retail network contributed approximately $9 million to help deliver emergency assistance, migration support, community resilience programs, and international humanitarian services.
items of clothing were made available in our shops and via merchant suppliers. This prevented approximately 2,353 tonnes of textiles from entering landfill and expanding the circular economy.
Australian Red Cross Shops need quality, saleable clothing and accessories. As a guide, if it’s something you’d feel great about giving to a friend, then it’s perfect to donate! Need inspo?
YES: Quality, vintage, retro or designer pieces.
NO THANKS: Poor quality, damaged, dirty or stained clothing. Homewares, electronics and other household items.
The better the quality of the items donated, the greater the amount of funds raised to support people in need.
It’s easy! Firstly, give your wardrobe a good spring clean out! Gather your pre-loved items into a bag or box, no heavier than 20kg, so it can comfortably sit in the boot of a midsize car. Then:

We need volunteers across the country to help with accepting donations at drop off locations on Saturday 17 October. No experience is necessary as you'll receive on-the-day training and support. Have fun and make a difference!
Morning, early and late afternoon 3-4 hour shifts are available, and remember you’re welcome to register for more than 1 shift and stay all day.
