Cash assistance update

How donations are being distributed to people affected by the floods.

Thanks to the generosity of people around Australia, including businesses and governments, we raised around $40 million for our cash assistance program for people impacted by the floods in Queensland and NSW. $27.2 million was raised during the Australia Unites Telethon.

This dashboard is updated daily at 10am. You can check to see how the grants are continuing to support those in need.

These grants are a gift from the Australian people.

All donations from individuals via our website and phone during the telethon have been received. We are in the process of collecting donations from businesses who pledged during the telethon or to our broader Floods appeal.

Our grants team is working 7 days a week to process grants as quickly as possible. Applications that have all the correct information, identification and bank account details are being processed faster. We are getting high numbers of incomplete, ineligible and duplicate applications that are slowing down the approval process. All applications are checked and approved by our grants team to ensure donors money is going to eligible people impacted by the floods.

We have continued to receive donations to our Floods Appeal and therefore have been able to increase the number of Relief Grants we can offer.

Grant applications will stay open until all available funds are exhausted, so we encourage eligible people to apply as soon as possible.

As we get closer to funds exhaustion, we have included an estimate of eligible applications submitted and in progress so that people can get an idea of funds available.
