Two people partaking in a high five

Red Cross provides help and support to refugees, people seeking asylum, people in immigration detention and other people who are vulnerable because of migration. We also provide services to trace and reconnect families who have lost contact because of international or internal conflict, war, and disaster.

Check the Red Cross website to see if any volunteer roles are available in the Migration Support programs.

Or email the National Migrant support team.

Volunteer role opportunities

In Search of Safety Presenter

The In Search of Safety program helps to build awareness and understanding of the real situations facing people who come to Australia to seek asylum. Volunteers help to improve public understanding of asylum seekers, refugees and migration by delivering interactive sessions in school forums.

Pathways to Employment Mentor

The Pathways to Employment Mentor Volunteer, will assess our client’s skills, work experience and qualifications and help them to write their cover letters and CVs. This could also include conducting mock interviews to help them prepare for their job interviews.

These volunteer roles are part of a formally funded program and applicants will need to complete an online application, complete any necessary compliance checks and training before commencing in the role.
