In addition to school programs, In Search of Safety is available to groups in the community wanting to learn more about the situation faced by people seeking asylum in Australia. Through informative and engaging presentations, In Search of Safety aims to improve public understanding of asylum seekers and refugees and help dispel the many myths and misunderstandings surrounding migration.
Open to clubs, organisations, workplaces, communities and groups of any size, these community conversations give participants a valuable opportunity to hear real-life stories from people with direct and first-hand experience as refugees and asylum seekers in Australia.
From small and informal gatherings to large forums and conferences, the talks can be customised to any size, for any group and to any particular area of interest. The talks are run by Red Cross staff and volunteers and are free of charge
