“You never imagine it happening, not until you actually go back to the devastation. I nearly had a nervous breakdown,” Linda said.

About your donation to Red Cross

Yes, all donations to Australian Red Cross are tax-deductible in Australia. If you receive a material benefit for your donation then it is not tax deductible: for example, if you receive points or another material benefit from your credit card provider.

You will receive a receipt in your name.

Your donation helps Red Cross support people before, during and after disasters. From providing practical and emotional support after an emergency to helping communities prepare for future challenges, your gift goes where it can make the biggest difference.

It can help:

  • support people affected by disasters
  • provide practical and emotional support during recovery
  • strengthen community preparedness and resilience
  • connect people experiencing loneliness with support
  • and much more.

Supporters like you help Australian Red Cross provide practical help, emotional support and recovery assistance when people need it most. In 2025/26, your generosity helped us:

  • support 213,790 people before, during and after disasters
  • provide 13,744 people with psychological first aid after emergencies
  • send 44 Australian delegates to support humanitarian efforts in 26 countries
