We go where the need is greatest.

Across Australia and around the globe, disasters are striking at an alarming rate.

From extreme heat and bushfires to cyclones and floods, communities are being shaken to their core as homes, vital infrastructure and cherished belongings are lost.

That’s where you come in.

Thanks to generous supporters like you, Australian Red Cross is there when it matters most. Your support helps people stay safe during dangerous weather, access emotional and practical support in evacuation and recovery centres, and reconnect with loved ones separated by conflict or crisis.

Your donation helps people take their first steps forward after their world has been turned upside down. You can provide comfort in moments of shock, stability in times of uncertainty, and reassurance that they are not facing hardship alone.

Whether it’s a farmer rebuilding after fire, or a family searching for news of loved ones, your kindness makes a real difference to people when they need it most.

We can’t stop disasters from happening.
But together, we can help people recover with strength, dignity and hope.

Please give today.

Australian Red Cross Annual Report 2025

About your donation to Australian Red Cross

Yes, donations of gifts over $2 are tax deductible in Australia. If you receive a material benefit for your donation then it is not tax deductible: for example, if you receive points or another material benefit from your credit card provider.

You will receive a receipt in your name.

Your donation will help Australian Red Cross support the most vulnerable people in our local communities in Australia and across the Asia Pacific. Your gift will go to help wherever the needs are greatest. That could be:

  • companionship for older people who are isolated and alone
  • emotional and practical support to someone affected by a disaster
  • emergency financial aid for a family who fled conflict overseas and is starting over
  • and so much more.

Every year, in Australia, we help someone every 90 seconds. Here are some of the great things supporters like you made possible last financial year:

  • support for more than 324,000 people during and after disasters in Australia
  •  regular phone calls or visits to more than 3,500 older isolated people
  • much-needed support for more than 19,700 people from 125 countries who had been made vulnerable by migration and are now living in Australia
  • 66 Australian international aid workers were deployed to help in 33 countries.

If you donate a gift to an organisation classified as a ‘deductible gift recipient’ (like Australian Red Cross), you can claim a tax deduction on your tax return for that year for your donation. If you receive a material benefit for your donation then it is not tax deductible: for example, if you receive points or another material benefit from your credit card provider. Donating to a deductible gift recipient will likely reduce your overall taxable income, which in turn may reduce the amount of tax you are required to pay.

You must donate at least $2 and keep proof in the form of a receipt or bank statement. When you donate to Australian Red Cross, we’ll send you a tax receipt. The more you donate, the more you may claim back. Find out more »

You will still get a receipt for tax purposes – and we'll be hugely grateful to you. However, any donations received over the phone, online, or in the mail (post-marked) after midnight on June 30, 2024, can't be claimed for tax purposes until the start of the following financial year.

Every day, people like you are helping to make a real difference in the lives of those who are vulnerable through our regular giving program.

Our regular givers support our work by automatically donating every four weeks, either by credit card or direct debit. Their ongoing support means we can be there for people facing crisis in Australia and beyond for years to come.

We would love to help you answer any questions. Please call 1800 733 276 or email contactus@redcross.org.au. For security reasons, don't include your credit card details in your email.
