Governance

Guided by the Red Cross Red Crescent Migration Leadership Group and our Steering Committee, the Global Migration Lab abides by the Red Cross Red Crescent Fundamental Principles and operates to the strictest of integrity standards.

Our research is also guided by a global Academic Advisory Board, which ensures we bring regional perspectives and academic excellency into our work.

Red Cross Red Crescent Migration Leadership Group

The Migration Leadership Group leads the International Red Cross Red Crescent’s response to current and future migration challenges and ensures Movement actions are consistent, coherent, and coordinated. Composed by senior leaders of dedicated National Societies, the IFRC and the ICRC, the MLG sets the strategic direction for a Movement approach to migration to ensure our work and advocacy on migration are future fit.

Steering Committee

The Lab’s Steering Committee is led by the Co-Chairs of the Migration Leadership Group, which is made up of senior leaders from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Maldivian Red Crescent, the Australian Red Cross and the Swedish Red Cross.

The Steering Committee provides broad strategic direction for the Lab, including on research topics and priorities. It supports resource mobilisation within the Movement, and provides guidance on the Lab’s direction and model.
