The services below provide free information and advice to migrants, people on temporary visas or people without a visa. You can talk about your concerns in private and without your employer or sponsor knowing.
For free and confidential legal advice
Employment Rights Legal Service
Employment Rights Legal Service (ERLS) provides free and confidential employment legal advice and representation to migrants and vulnerable workers in NSW. This free state-wide service is a partnership between Kingsford Legal Centre, Inner City Legal Centre and Redfern Legal Centre.
ERLS can help with:
- Legal advice (in person or over the phone)
- Legal representation
- Information
- Referrals
ERLS can assist with issues such as:
- Not being paid the right amount
- Losing your job unfairly
- Being bullied by your boss
- Being sexually harassed
- Being discriminated against

LawAccess NSW
LawAccess NSW is a free government telephone service that provides legal information, referrals and, in some cases, advice for people who have a legal problem in NSW. They can help with an employment dispute or issue.
LawAccess NSW can:
- Give you legal information over the telephone
- Send information, for example, fact sheets, forms, publications
- In some cases, arrange for one of their lawyers to give you legal advice over the telephone
- Refer you to another service, for example, if you need face to face legal advice, or a specialist legal service.

Fair Work Ombudsman
Provides free advice and help to workers and employers about workplace rights, pay, conditions, and how to resolve workplace issues.
