Australian Red Cross Shops sell new and pre-loved clothing, accessories, and homewares to raise vital funds that support people facing crisis and hardship across Australia and further afield.
With over 170 shops and the help of over 3,500 passionate volunteers, we divert millions of quality items from landfill each year, giving them a second life and promoting a more sustainable future.
Volunteers play a hands-on role in customer service, visual merchandising, sorting and processing donations, and even mending hidden gems, all while building skills and connecting with their community. We welcome Mutual Obligations participants and are proud to be an approved voluntary work organisation. Whether you choose to volunteer in-shop or at our distribution centre, we’ll aim to match you with a location that suits your needs. You’ll be prompted to select the Mutual Obligations option during the application process.

About volunteering with Australian Red Cross
No necessary experience, just a keen interest in supporting Australian Red Cross Shops in your community. We will provide you with all the necessary training and support.
All Australian Red Cross volunteer roles require a National Police Check. As part of the onboarding process, we will help you to apply for the check and cover the cost. Whilst you might already hold a current Police Check, we will need to re-validate this.
