For 106 years, Red Cross has been there. And while we’re still working on helping Australians impacted by the bushfires, we know that there are other people who need support. From those in our community who need a friendly ear and much needed chat, to those newly arrived on Aussie shores who need support settling into their new home, we’re there every day to help.
Each year we make more than a million phone calls to people who are isolated. We’re ramping up that effort to include people who are already vulnerable and self-isolating due to COVID-19 precautions.
Donations from the public make this and all our other work possible. Please make a donation online today.
Red Cross Calling is a national fundraising drive that happens each March. Your support helps Red Cross be there for people and communities experiencing hardship in Australia and overseas.
Connecting through a yarn, a laugh and sometimes a good cry is universal. Aunty Carol knows that well.
Tracy has a full-time office job, which she took time off from to help support those affected by the bushfires.
It’s a phone call Elie and his family waited years for. They waited so long that when it finally came, Elie couldn’t believe it. His mum screamed “Elie, it’s happening!” They were going to a new home – Australia.
