On the 27th of June, Queensland members were delighted to be hosted by Bulgari in their gorgeous Brisbane showroom for Mid-Year Cocktails. As is the Bulgari way, on arrival guests were greeted with delicious aperitivi, the Ruinart Blanc de Blanc was flowing. The signature warm tones of the Bulgari décor coupled with the showroom’s grand crystal chandelier and so many sparkling jewels made for an intimate Aladdin’s cave atmosphere. With many members away on holidays enjoying the northern hemisphere summer, we were delighted to receive Anna Andriolo from National Australia Bank’s Private Office and here guests. We were also pleased to be able to meet select Bulgari clients. Special thanks must go to Anita for travelling from Melbourne to MC this elegant evening.
With the commencement of the formal part of the evening, Anita introduced the Red Cross’ Julia Donaldson. Julia spoke to us broadly about the important work of the IFRC and the ICRC, before delving into the detail of the School Readiness and Educational programs in Queensland for which funding has been announced since we have exceeded our fund-raising target for last financial year. Hearing from Julia who will be working in communities to advance these very programs was extremely uplifting. Every member can be proud that we are able to support these programs due to our hard work in exceeding our fund raising goals.
The gracious hosts from Bulgari offered us a very warm welcome and inviting atmosphere. Guests enjoyed trying the beautiful Jewels and accessories, not one cabinet remained unopened. Once again, Bulgari has shown us their generous support by offering 5% of sales in the Brisbane showroom to ladies that attended the evening to be donated to the Red Cross for the duration of July. Brian Purkis, High Jewellery Manager for Bulgari Australia, spoke to the group about the growing relationship between Bulgari and SWL. Thank you Brian and Bulgari for hosting such a wonderful event.
