"I’m staying at home. I don’t think I’d feel too comfortable in a nursing home … This house is comfort. I’ve got friends around me. The family can ring up. I go down the street, catch the bus. I’ve got good neighbours and I appreciate all the help I get from people.”
Every day Ray gets a call from one of our volunteers to check he’s okay, plus we regularly visit and take him on outings. “Best thing that ever happened was when I was put onto getting Red Cross’ morning calls … It’s the best thing that ever happened to me besides getting married,” Rays says. “I didn’t think there were so many good people around.”
