Nick - Queensland

Two years ago Nick dropped out of high school. “I just wanted to get to year 10 and drop out so I can do something else. Back then I didn’t care at all about passing or anything.”

But he’s recently gone back to school with a new perspective and the future is looking brighter than he ever thought it would.

Nick is set to complete Year 12, he has qualifications in hospitality and a part-time job in disability support. “I’m proud of where I am now because back then I wasn’t proud of anything I’d done.”

With support from Red Cross, Nick’s set himself goals and built his self-esteem. Meet more of the people featured in our [***LINK***]Stories of Life series. Photo: Australian Red Cross/Dilini Perera
