Libby - Somalia

Job description: six weeks in the Somalian heat, 16 hour days, no days off, limited water.

It isn’t the gig for everyone. “The hardest thing was working in 42 degree heat and having a hijab on,” says Libby, our aid worker and nurse. “Trying to do that with without looking like I had been dragged around the garden a few dozen times because I sweated beyond belief.

"We were there during Ramadan, so we had to respect that, we couldn’t reach for a drink in the middle of the day – we were probably working quite dehydrated on top of everything else.”
