Cesarina - South Sudan

Meet Cesarina, we call her ‘Mama Federation’ and she surely has Red Cross in her veins.

“It’s mind-blowing … To help refugees, displaced people and persons affected by diseases is something I want to do forever.”

She knows exactly what it is like to be a refugee. When she was younger, South Sudan’s conflict - which continues to this day - forced her to flee her home to neighbouring Uganda.

For 26 years she has worked with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent caring for people in need. “The people I work with they have human feelings in them … This is my home and family and I will always be ready.”
