The father-of-two stepped in to help after floods submerged whole houses and displaced thousands in his district. He and other Indian Red Cross volunteers helped families to safety and distributed medicines and relief supplies.
“I love Red Cross work and humanitarian service. We are promoting good hygiene practices to prevent diseases from spreading,” Ahmad says. “Many villagers have lost all their personal belongings. We hope to bring them more support to rebuild their lives.”
Ahmad and his family were also forced to evacuate when a nearby river rose to dangerous heights but they were fortunate their home wasn’t damaged.
