Red Cross’ reach across our social media networks continues to climb to new heights. We’re reaching a wider, younger audience who are keen to learn more about our work and share our news and stories with their friends.

Podcasting

Red Cross launched a new podcast channel this year to give our supporters the inside story on how aid works and learn more about life on the frontlines of delivering humanitarian aid. From conflict zones to natural disasters or the Ebola crisis in West Africa, our aid workers offer their personal insights. Subscribe to How Aid Works on iTunes, Stitcher or TuneIn.

Meeting our aid workers

This year we held five public events in capital cities to showcase the remarkable work of our international aid workers. Hundreds of Red Cross members, volunteers, staff, donors and supporters were inspired and entertained by moving presentations from aid workers who had returned from this year’s crisis hotspots – the Ebola crisis in West Africa, conflict zones in Iraq and Ukraine, and the aftermath of Cyclone Pam in Vanuatu.

Sharing our stories

We keep our supporters up to date with a range of publications, from our quarterly flagship Humanitarian magazine to the Everyday supporter newsletter, a monthly email with inspiring stories about the people we help and the latest news and views. Our regular givers receive updates to show how their donations are making a difference in communities, and we keep our community of members, volunteers and young humanitarians informed with print and digital newsletters. Talking to our customers

Our 147 Red Cross Shops make more than 2 million sales each year. In 2015/2016 we will be finding even more ways to engage with our customers to grow community support. Find your nearest store at redcross.org.au/shop.
