This year, Red Cross community fundraisers generated more than $3 million in gross funding to support vital services for those in greatest need around Australia and our region. A further $1.29 million was raised for targeted program areas such as our Nepal Region Earthquake Appeal. The power of our community shone through, with more than 12,500 individuals, schools, universities, workplaces, Red Cross branches and members contributing to this total. They organised their own events, participated in fitness challenges, and rallied behind Red Cross events such as Red Cross Calling and Big Cake Bake.
Highlights of 2014/2015 include our Centenary Bunnings BBQs (held at 248 locations around Australia), donation collections by Sydney Lyric and Capitol theatres, and a national online auction called ‘Tables4aCause’ which saw 95 restaurants donate a dining experience for four people.
