Red Cross and Uber volunteers who helped at our warehouse in Sunshine, Victoria.
It was the third time the clothing drive has been held and this time we picked up 8,700 bags filled with everything from jackets and jerseys to ball gowns and boots.
“We can’t thank everyone enough for their generous support – from those who gave on the day to the drivers to the volunteers packing the donations into our warehouses,” says Brooke Sclater, Red Cross’ Merchandise Operations Manager. “It will take us a while to sort through it all, but I’ve seen some amazing donations from clothes with their tags still attached to brand new shoes still in their box.”
More than 120 volunteers from Red Cross and Uber gave up their Sunday to take part in the drive which ran in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Perth. For four hours on Sunday 3 June people in the designated collection zones could book an Uber driver to come to their door for free to collect clothes they wanted to donate. The drivers then delivered the clothes to our warehouses.

Big thanks also to all the celebrities who came to the Farewell Fashion show in Sydney to promote the drive and donated some of their own pre-loved fashion.
