Past underpayment of employees

Australian Red Cross has discovered that some current and former employees were accidentally underpaid. Australian Red Cross is deeply sorry for these errors. 

This involved some current and former employees during the period from 1 July 2012 to 11 October 2020. 

Australian Red Cross has worked hard to rectify these errors and repay people what they are owed. Australian Red Cross has sought to contact every person affected.  

We anticipate repayment will be made this current financial year (2021-22). This is dependent on former staff providing contact and banking details, which Australian Red Cross need to make these repayments.

Red Cross enters into an Enforceable Undertaking with the Fair Work Ombudsman
Red Cross has entered into an Enforceable Undertaking (EU) with the Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) to address the issue of underpayment of pay, allowances and other entitlements to current and former Red Cross employees over several years.

The agreement is active as of 4 November 2021.
