Our program seeks to build a more educated, empathetic and inclusive society, particularly for people who are newly arrived to Australia.
We provide valuable information and engaging activities to give participants a deeper understanding of what it might be like for an asylum seeker, refugee or migrant coming to Australia.
Participants have the opportunity to ask questions about forced migration in a neutral, impartial and safe space.
Our In Search of Safety program gives primary school students a valuable insight into forced migration and why people seek asylum.
Each session runs for 90 minutes and includes:
- a pre-presentation activity for teachers to gauge students’ existing understanding of forced migration
- an overview of why people seek safety and the challenges they face in Australia
- an engaging role play activity that allows students to walk in the shoes of someone seeking asylum
- individuals’ experiences of seeking safety and the challenges they faced in settlement
- an evaluation activity for teachers to assess shifts in students’ knowledge and perceptions.
Our program for secondary schools, Pathways to Protection, offers issue-rich engagements, critical discussion points and interactive scenarios.
Sessions include:

- an engaging role play activity that allows students to walk in the shoes of someone seeking asylum
- individuals’ experiences of seeking safety and the challenges they faced in settlement

Sessions are also available to workplaces and community groups wanting to learn more about the issues faced by people seeking safety in Australia.
Open to clubs, organisations, workplaces, communities and higher education institutions, these sessions give participants an opportunity to learn, share and contribute to meaningful discussion about people impacted by migration.
Providing insights and information, sessions encourage critical thinking and foster an appreciation of diversity. These conversations hope to empower people to create change in their community by promoting understanding.
We can tailor our sessions to any group size, from small and informal gatherings to large forums and conferences.
