CPR Refresher Course - renew your certification

HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation - refresher | RTOID 3605

This is a CPR recertifying course which is designed to refresh the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain breathing and circulation in an adult, child or infant following cardiac arrest. Content is based on Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.

Please note it is a requirement of this renewal course that practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the adult manikin on the floor.

Course duration

2.5 to 3 hours (face to face)

Course content

  • Legal and other requirements
  • Basic life support
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Demonstration and use of a defibrillator (AED)
  • Debriefing/Welfare


To book into this refresher course, students must have successfully completed and hold a current Statement of Attainment for Perform CPR (HLTCPR211A) or Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (HLTAID001). Students must present their Statement of Attainment either prior to, or on the day of the course.

The recommended industry standard to maintain current competency is for this CPR course to be refreshed annually.

Students will be assessed through the demonstration of practical skills, participation in role plays, analysis of case studies and a written quiz.

Note: It is a requirement of this course that practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the adult manikin on the floor.


On successful completion of this CPR course, students will be issued with up to date certification - a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
