In Work Australia

A network to help recently arrived migrants find and enjoy work in Australia.

If you're new to Australia, finding a job is often the toughest challenge you’ll face. Finding work can be even harder when employers require previous Australian experience, and jobs are found through contacts rather than advertisements.

Even when you’ve found a job, it can be hard to remain in work or negotiate better conditions, especially when you’re still learning English and getting used to Australian workplace culture.

In Work Australia uses Facebook and LinkedIn to connect new migrants with an online community of supporters of all backgrounds, who have experience and practical tips to share.

Who can be involved?

Recent migrants - people who have been in Australia for five years or less and want to work, and need support with finding or keeping a job.

Experienced locals - people who can offer their time and experience to help coach and prepare recent-migrants for work in Australia.
