Your donation will help Red Cross support the most vulnerable people in our local communities, here in Australia and across the Asia Pacific.
We care for people when times are tough.
Emergencies, disasters, disease epidemics, homelessness, poverty and social isolation – no matter the crisis, Red Cross can be there, because of the support of people like you.
Jack, Laisa and their three children lost everything when the Manaro volcano on the island of Ambae, Vanuatu erupted, causing flash flooding and mudslides. Vanuatu Red Cross was first on the scene to help with the evacuation, and assisted the family with picking up the pieces and starting their lives over.
Asho first came to Red Cross as part of our Learner Driver Mentor Program. He was determined to get his Driver’s Licence so he could be more independent. He’s now a Red Cross volunteer at the Ceduna Community Hub. He’s there every day, with a friendly ear and advice for anyone who needs it, making a real difference in his community.
Matt’s worked hard to overcome plenty of challenges in life, including jail, time in rehab, and a habit of packing up and moving when things got tough. Meeting Red Cross caseworker Bec gave him the extra push he needed – she helped support him to find stable housing, and from there he found employment and got involved in community service.
