Sara is patient and kind, but didn’t have the opportunity to shine. Sara’s Mum, Debbie, said she could see her daughter was depressed and disconnecting from the world.
Across town, the residents at Sara’s local nursing home were also looking to connect with people in their community. Australian Red Cross brought the two together. Sara’s new friends look forward to her smiling face every week and Sara has found a sense of purpose.
“I'm very proud of my daughter. I think it's lovely that she has so much empathy for people. What she can't do in some areas she certainly does make up in that area,” Sara’s Mum said. “Going to work, it just means the world to her. It's very important thing in her life.”
