When Geraldine’s Dad, Wally, farewelled his daughter to live two hours away from the tight-knit community of Woorabinda, in Central Queensland, he knew he was doing the right thing.
Geraldine is the first person in her family to finish high school and she’s got big plans for her future.
Wally said he knew Geraldine would face some tough days, but with the right support to connect her to people who would help and guide her future, the challenges would be worth it.
“The goal for me was to see her graduate and pass,” Wally said. “I didn’t want to pressure her into anything and she making her own mind up now which is good.”
Geraldine wants to study law, and her Dad says he’ll support her big decisions.
