Red Cross made thousands of connections this year. Here are 10 that made us especially proud.
811,786 people connected with Red Cross: giving blood, donating, volunteering, becoming a member, or taking on a fundraising challenge.
Our teams were there for 12,624 people in the immediate aftermath of an emergency and supported 35,963 people with their recovery.
We helped 213 families find out about or reconnect with their missing loved ones.
Both directly and together with other agencies, we supported 11,000 people seeking asylum to submit their applications for protection on time.
We also supported 5,102 asylum seekers to live safely in the community, and helped 1,378 newly-arrived refugees to settle and thrive in Australia.
Our volunteers made 1.1 million phone calls to those living alone, made over 40,000 visits to people in their homes, and drove 6,490 people to 57,922 medical or social appointments.
509 sports teams joined our Beat Loneliness campaign, taking a team approach to tackle an issue that affects one in four Australians.
415 parents built their confidence and skill through our Young Parents Program, while 1,709 carers were supported to overcome obstacles to care and services.
Through our East Africa Food Crisis Appeal, we supported 64 mobile health clinics that brought basic health care to more than 180,000 people in Somalia.
14,565 people helped us acknowledge the 70th anniversary of Red Cross Calling by participating in our annual door-knock appeal.
