Be a Lifeblood champion

Effort: Medium | Time: 1-3 hours

Sometimes for medical or other reasons people are not eligible to donate blood. Take the Lifeblood Eligibility Quiz to find out if you can donate. If you are not eligible, don’t worry – you don’t have to be an active donor to be a Champion for blood donation. There are still so many ways you can support Lifeblood and this important life giving service.

Steps to take action

  1. Encourage your friends and family to donate blood on your behalf - ask them to make a blood or plasma donation for your birthday.
  2. If you are a past recipient of blood services share your story - get in touch with Lifeblood so they can do a good news story about you - it really helps to show how important the service is for people in need
  3. Follow Lifeblood on social media including facebook, twitter and instagram. Share the posts with your friends, especially when they are doing a call out for urgent blood donations. #lifeblood @lifebloodau
  4. Become a Lifeblood Champion in your workplace and start a Lifeblood Team - even if you can’t donate yourself you can help and support you colleagues to complete Lifeblood Team Challenges
