Asylum Seeker Assistance Scheme in WA  
The Asylum Seeker Assistance Scheme (ASAS) provides financial assistance and health care to eligible Asylum seekers who have been waiting for six months or more for their protection Visa applications to be finalised by the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs.  The Scheme is currently operating from five Red Cross State and Territory offices. 

Case Officers in the Scheme assist people to meet a wide range of needs including health support, counselling, accommodation, material aid, education, legal referrals and social support. 

 
Immigration Detention Program in WA  
Australian Red Cross provides tracing and message services to immigration detainees in Government facilities who are waiting for a decision regarding their status in Australia.  In Western Australia, Red Cross Officers visit facilities in Port Hedland and the Perth Domestic Airport.   
International Humanitarian Law  
International Humanitarian Law is a set of rules which seek, for humanitarian reasons, to limit the effects of armed conflict. It protects persons who are not or who are no longer participating in hostilities and restricts the means and methods of warfare. Find out more.  
International Tracing Service in WA  
Australian Red Cross works with other Red Cross / Red Crescent Societies tracing family members in the midst of war, armed conflict or national disaster in any country.  Searching for loved ones may take months or even years, but it can finish with a joyous reunion.  Sometimes the search may not have a happy ending, yet many who grieve express relief at learning the fate of a loved one.
