Lady Lawley Cottage (LLC) offers a unique and important service for Western Australian children suffering from physical and/or intellectual disabilities, which are often the result of chronic complex medical conditions.

We care for babies through to children aged up to 16 years. The average period of  respite care ranges from overnight to a week. While families are encouraged to plan  respite breaks, the centre is equipped to care for children at short notice in emergency  circumstances.

LLC adopts a goal-setting model whereby staff work with families to instigate an  appropriate care plan and set of goals for each child. This care plan takes into  consideration the unique needs of the child and is updated and evaluated regularly on  each subsequent visit.

Children at LLC have access to specialised therapy and nursing services as well as  special needs playgroups. When appropriate, children continue to attend school.

There is a fee for service for each visit and assistance for these costs can be accessed through Centrelink. Application forms for the Assistance for Isolated Children's Allowance can be onbtained from LLC reception.
