POSITION TITLE:           Friends Teen Mentoring - Volunteer Mentor

POSITION LOCATION:    GEELONG:  Bellarine Secondary College, Ocean Grove Campus
                                   BENDIGO:  Weeroona Secondary College

POSITION REPORTS TO: Convenor Friends Program

LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT: One school year

DAYS WORKING:            School days (Monday - Friday)

HOURS OF WORK:          45 minutes (approx) per week during school hours

POSITION CONTEXT:     
Teen Mentoring is part of the state-wide ARCV Friends program, and in collaboration with a partnering School, provides students, identified by the school, who are socially isolated or disengaged at school, with a companion, confidante and mentor.

Weekly visits by volunteer-mentors will enable students at risk to have contact with a significant adult they trust on a one-to-one basis, enhancing their growth and helping prepare them for life experiences beyond scondary school.
