Position title: Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) Volunteer  
Department: Social Inclusion Programs  
Position location: Geelong, Bendigo, Wantirna, Narre Warren, Berwick, Ringwood, Croydon, Bayswater, Montrose, Mooroolbark, Newport, Footscray and Burnside
Position reports to: Social Inclusions Program Officer
Lenght of assignment: Ongoing
Times: Minimum one hour a fortnight - 12 month commitment

Position context
 
The Community Visitors Scheme is a Commonwealth Government Initiative. Red Cross is responsible for providing volunteers to visit lonely and isolated residents in aged care facilities.

Principal responsibilities of the role

The Community Visitors Scheme involves volunteers paying regular visits to lonely residents in aged care facilities offering them friendship and companionship.

Specific requirements

Community Visitors Scheme volunteers should have an interest in elderly people and be community minded.

NB: Red Cross does not engage volunteers for more than 2 days a week in total
