POSITION REPORTS TO: ARCV Breakfast Club Coordinator

LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT:  Ongoing

DAYS WORKING: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

TIMES: 8am to 9am

POSITION CONTEXT:

Australian Red Cross Victoria (ARCV) carries out a number of Community-based Services which are in keeping with the Principles of Red Cross and complement ARCV's role in caring for people in crisis and provide an enduring Red Cross presence in the community.


  The Red Cross Good Start Breakfast Club Program (GSBC) is a service provided to the public with the help of corporate sponsors, local communities, schools, local business volunteers and students. It was developed as a way of ensuring children receive a healthy, nutritious breakfast whilst educating them about healthy eating habits.


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

The Good Start Breakfast Club Volunteer is a voluntary position responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the Breakfast Club. Volunteers provide supervision of all children who attend the program.. The Good Start Breakfast Club Volunteer interacts with the children providing a friendly safe environment. Volunteers teach and encourage the development of children's living, social and nutritional skills.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

Good Start Breakfast Clubs Volunteers should have an interest in working with young people and be community minded.

NB: ARCV does not engage volunteers for more than 2 days a week in total
