The Tracing and Refugee Services Department endeavour to locate, reunite and support families separated by war, conflict and disaster. The restoration of family links between victims of armed conflict is one of the most longstanding activities of the International Red Cross Movement, dating back to 1870. We conduct tracing throughout the world using the International Red Cross Network, and assist clients in maintaining family links via Red Cross Messages to family members in an area where traditional means of communication have been damaged or destroyed. Australian Red Cross assists many people to access WWII records pertaining to themselves or missing civilian family members. In exceptional circumstances, we can trace persons in peaceful countries where regular contact has been suddenly lost and there are concerns for the family member's health and welfare.
If you require tracing assistance, our duty hours are 11.00am-3.00pm weekdays, except Tuesday. Please Call 03 8327 7883
