Assistance and Care in Emergency Departments (ACE)

|
ACE volunteers bring emotional and practical support to many thousands of patients and their family members or carers in Victorian Hospital Emergency Departments. These include the Royal Children's, Ballarat Base, Bendigo, Northern, Maroondah, Frankston, Geelong and Box Hill.
| ACE volunteers complement the role of hospital staff by easing the distress and anxiety experienced by many of the people during their stay in Emergency Department with a kind word and emotional support. The benefits are felt not only by patients, but also by medical staff who, thanks to the presence of Red Cross Volunteers, are better able to focus on providing medical attention. |
